4320K PART 1 OF 2

for calvin

how many moons
will you wait
for my gift

you may choose
- hermes or ariadne -
your most desired

your own iron god(dess)

who, with able lips,
will milk the juice
from an over-ripe plum

- indigo boy

This posting is the first part of "My Innocence", a video interview with Calvin Campbell, a very brave young man, who, unlike many others like himself, was willing to disclose highly personal information about his youth to Indigo Boy. Thank you Calv, I am sure your example will give many other young men voices and the bravery to come forward and share their own stories with the world.

The truth is that many boys, not only girls, are raped daily, and forced to remain silent due to the Patriarchal society we live in. According to laws in many (especially African) countries, "men cannot be raped". This is utter nonsense as we read more and more in the press about young boys being raped, often by a family member. This issue is a huge part of my Indigo Boy story and another "wound" that many boys receive before puberty. The silence needs to be broken and more men should "come out of the closet".
