Being a little allergic to TV, newspapers and all the bullshit and bad news in the world, I stumbled upon this article in an old Cape Times: Friday 3 August, old? No, on the contrary, the article was published two days ago!
While gay people in Europe are slowly getting out and proud in the main media, with examples such as this travel magazine in Spain, our brothers and sisters are still raped and attacked for being GAY! We have the "most liberal constitution" in the world! Is that really just words on paper? Are we truly living our rights? How many gay people are still too afraid to even show affection in public! The time has come for us to really take a firm stand against this bullshit still persistent in our country, and elsewhere in the world!
The fact that gay people are still being attacked, raped and belittled is exactly the reason why Indigo Boy was born. (I am acutely aware of so-called art critics who refer to Indigo Boy as boring and not relevant any longer - think again, you know who you are!) He has grown into a hot-blooded Wild Man, and is even more determined to examine, study and research the persistent phenomenon of attacks on gay people. Why do heterosexual men feel the urge to rape or abuse gay men and women? (I am not aware of any heterosexual women attacking gay men and women - are you?). I firmly believe it is something just to close to home for most men; just like the mothers (and fathers) who force their gay sons and daughters into marriage. I know of so many gay "married", but deeply unhappy, individuals. Just the amount of so-called "heterosexual" men in my gym trying to have sex with other men is enough proof that we live in a truly twisted society. As long as gay people stay in the closet and live in the dark, nothing will change!
Homosexuality is NOT a psychological condition, a sin, or an illness, it is merely a different LOVE! How many more people need to die for the right to love who they want. This is the year 2007 and gay people are still raped, abused and murdered! I am really trying to understand what is wrong with our heterosexual men?
