7425 K PART 1 OF 2
Today's posting is the first half of my video "Cape Rose"; an interview with a truly free and very funny individual named Leonard, or otherwise known as "Poes". Leonard is not afraid to tackle any holy cow by the udder; he is brave enough to live completely outside any constrictive norms; challenging society (and himself) daily. He is incredibly disobedient, and finds himself often in trouble (especially at Bob's Bar) in Cape Town, where the mostly heterosexual clientele, will be by his side almost immediately.
This posting is especially for Johannesburg gay guys in their forties. Leonard is a reincarnation of the legendary Granny Lee, who frequented bars and clubs in Hillbrow in the 70's and 80's.
I am so intrigued by the ways in which society view free individuals such as Lenny, I am more and more convinced it is mostly quiet jealousy. Most people are afraid of blunt honesty, they wear masks every day and live in the shadows. Not Lenny, the "Poes", he is living out loud. Lenny is a red-blooded wild man.
...I felt humble today...
Thank you Lenny, for the glimpse into your colourful existence. Cape Town would certainly be a lot more dull without your crayon-bright personality!
