Review

Volwassene Geen o.18 (SNG)

Flesh!I envision Flesh! to be cutting-edge and a challenging alternative to the often boring and literal erotic shows presented as 'edgy' or contemporary. Erotic art and expression is as old as man, and the mere depiction of nudity and/or sex does not make a work of art contemporary. I am NOT looking for endless lyrical photographs of nudes and/or blatant pornography without a deeper concept (and often without any context). Images of fornication between two or more people should also be conceptually challenging. I am hoping to receive more informed, intellectually challenging and conceptually charged works, to enable me to curate an erotic show with a difference. I want the viewer to think, debate, and not only be shocked/ enticed/ disgusted? with what is presented to them in the space.

I am hoping to receive works in all media. There is absolutely NO restriction on materials/media used. If you need specialised equipment, please note that you will have to provide everything you need yourself. I will only accept installations with clear instructions on how to install the work. If your installation is very complex, I prefer the artist to install the work.
